François I had this residence built for his mistress in the 16th century before it became the home of Gabrielle d’Estrée, a favourite of Henry IV. Located in Montlouis-sur-Loire, near Tours, this magnificent building preserves the memory of its illustrious ladies by naming the rooms – located in the château and outbuildings- after them. Fireplaces in the lounge, portraits of poodles adored by the Princess of Broglie in the breakfast room. The terrace looks onto the 50-hectare park where the vines grow along with the 650 varieties of tomato. Swimming pool and garden, the latter providing a stage for numerous exhibitions.
